Turkish Tea

Tea, or çay, in Turkish, is by far the most popular drink of Turkey. All Turkish people drink tea, at any time of the day. It's not to be missed! You can find it in every coffee shop or tearoom, in nargile cafés or in restaurants, in short, everywhere in Turkey. You can even find tea stalls in the streets of Istanbul or on the ferries crossing the Bosphore. Turkish tea is traditionally prepared in a double function container, called '' çaydanlik '', that is at the same time a kettle and a tea pot. Don't hesitate to ask either for a light '' açik çay '' or a strong tea '' koyu ''. Tea is almost always served in small transparent and flaring glasses. Those glasses enable a good conservation of the aroma and temperature of the çay. Turkish people are some of the greatest tea consumers in the world.

Turkish Coffee

Turkish coffee is mainly enjoyed in Middle East, in an almost ritual fashion. It is prepared in the '' cezve '', a typical copper and brass container with a long handle. Its preparation requires the use of a very finely ground coffee. Traditionally, the use of a brass grinder allows to grind the beans in a powder as fine and delicate as caster sugar. We drink it in some small and shallow cups, once the powder has completely settled in the bottom.

Istanbul Salep

Salep is a beverage made out of the flour of the roots of different varieties of plant of the genus Orchis, which include many varieties of wild European orchids. Those roots are crushed until they become powder, and eventually mixed and heated up with milk in order to be drunk. Today, the drink is often sprinkled with cinnamon to make it even more delicious. Did you know that we were drinking salep in Europe even before we drank tea or coffee?

Unibroue Beers

Unibroue Beers : Unibroue creates unique-tasting craft beers using traditional brewing methods. To craft their beers, they draw inspiration from the great brewing traditions developed over the last two centuries by Trappist monks in Europe—particularly in Belgium. Their beers preserve all their protein and part of their yeast, making them truly worth savouring. For the very beginning, Unibroue has carved out a special niche in the beer world with top quality products and a brand rooted deep in Quebec culture. It made history by becoming the first North American brewer to use a brewing method inspired by the two-centuries-old tradition developed by Trappist monks in Europe, particularly in Belgium. Over the years, Unibroue has remained faithful to its origins even as it has grown to become an icon of the brewing world. Unibroue products take you on a journey filled with legends and fabulous tales. Cheers!

Our selection of spirits

Our selection of spirits: A spirit consists of an alcoholic beverage with an alcohol degree higher than 18%. You can find on our menu a selection of alcohols from Russia and Poland, commonly called vodka. We also have a small selection of tequilas. We propose an offer of a dozen choices of rum, a cane sugar-based alcohol, in a white, brown or spiced form. Can you tell the difference between cognac and brandy? All cognacs are brandies, but not all brandies are cognacs. Brandies are a kind of wine-based alcohol while cognacs are brandies exclusively produced in the area of Charentes, in south-western France. There is also the category of anis flavoured alcoholic drinks, in which figures one of our business's specialty: raki. Raki is most of the time consumed diluted with water, or more seldom, dry. We serve it in two tall glasses, one containing raki and the other, water. We offer a small selection of gins, but a quality one. To whom doesn’t know, gin is the least caloric alcohol. Obviously, the abuse of any kind of alcohol is dangerous for your health. The favourite section of all is definitely that of whisky (or whiskey?) For Irish people, it's whiskey while for Scottish people, it's whisky. We don't mind, as long as we can drink it. There are various kinds of whiskies, the most popular being, without a doubt, scotch. Having been produced in Scotland constitutes a criterion for whisky to bear the name of scotch. There are several varieties of scotches. They bear appellations like single malt, blended malt, single grain, among others. Finally, American whiskies include ryes and bourbons, as well as many other kinds.
